Recording Manual
Before use:
Read the following 2
steps before using
free RemoteWP
Software, as it is necessary to set
the microphone and
personalise your
RemoteWP
Recorder.
How to
personalise your RemoteWP Recorder
Note: This task is only
necessary the first time.
1. Click on
the Recorder Settings
icon.
2.
The Settings
box will
appear.
3.
In Settings click on
Author's Details Tab in the top.
4.
Enter your personal
details.
5. Press OK.
How to test sound and set your
microphone
Note: RemoteWP recommends using a
headset, preferably with USB.
Option 1:
1. In
the bottom
right
hand
of your
screen, look for this icon
and
double click. (If you don't see this
icon,
use Option 2: below)
2.
The Master Volume
box
will appear.
3.
Make sure that the Volume Control and Wave Balance are set at 80% and that
they are not turned off.
Option 2:
1. Click on the
Start and then select
Control Panel

2. In
Control Panel select
Sound, Speech and Audio Devices

3.
In Sound, Speech and Audio Devices select Sound and
Audio Devices

4. The Sound and Audio
Devices Properties box will
appear.
5.
In the center of the box under Device Volume click on
Advanced.
6. Master Volume
box
will appear.
7.
Make sure that the Volume Control and Wave Balance are set at 80% and that
they are not turned off.
How to start recording
1. Click on
the
Create
New Audio File
icon.
2. Enter any
file details that you wish to add eg Matter No, Subject etc
3. Select
Create. (You are now ready to record your transcription)
How to send
audio file via FTP
Note: RemoteWP
recommends this option.
1. If and Audio File is not chosen,
click on the
Open Audio File
icon
and choose the Audio File you wish to send.
2.
Click on the
Send Audio File
icon.
3. Under the Method Tab in the
dropdown box on the left,
select FTP.
4. In
Method Tab under Instructions select
when you need your Audio File returned and how you are to be contacted when file is
ready.
5. Press Send.
How to send
audio file via E-mail
Note: Before sending an audio file via e-mail as
attachments providing you have a MAPI compliant e-mail client e.g. MS
Outlook or MS Outlook Express.
1. If and Audio File is not chosen,
click on the
Open Audio File
icon
and choose the Audio File you wish to send.
2. Click on the
Send Audio File
icon.
3.
Under the Method Tab in the
dropdown box on the left,
select E-mail.
4. In
Method Tab under Instructions select
when you need your Audio File returned and how you are to be contacted when file is
ready.
5. Press Send.
How
to import a wav. or .dss file
1. Click on the
New Audio File
icon
and create a new Audio File.
2. Select File then
Import Audio.
3. In the Import Audio dialogue box, select the
File Type you
wish to import.
4. Browse your Hard Drive and select the
.wav or .dss you wish
to import.
5. Once you found and selected the file, press Open.
RemoteWP will then import the audio file and at the same time convert the
file into RemoteWP's .iaf format. While this happens a status box
appers showing the percentage completed.
